For the first time in decades, Dearborn Heights residents have an opportunity to take a meaningful look at the document that serves as the foundation of how our city operates. Elyana believes that responsibility should be approached thoughtfully, collaboratively, and with the voices of residents at the center of every conversation. She isn’t running because she believes she has all the answers. She’s running because she knows how to listen, how to bring people together, how to do the work, and how important it is for residents to have a voice in decisions that will impact their city for generations. From volunteering as an elementary school student, to leading students across Michigan, to raising money for families, supporting mental health initiatives, advocating for education, and serving her community as an adult, service has always been part of Elyana’s story. Now, she’s ready to bring that same heart, work ethic, and commitment to the Dearborn Heights City Charter Commission. Because for Elyana, Dearborn Heights isn’t just where she lives — it’s the community she has spent her life serving and the community she wants to help build for the next generation.
